World’s most contagious virus detected at 2 major US airports amid peak holiday traffic

Citizens of the United States have been put on high alert after reports emerged that a highly contagious strain of a common respiratory virus has been detected at two major airports.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have confirmed the presence of the virus, known as Influenza A(H3N2), at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.

With millions of Americans preparing to embark on their winter holidays, health experts are urging travelers to take precautions to avoid spreading the virus.

What you need to know about Influenza A(H3N2)

• Highly contagious: The virus can spread easily from person to person through respiratory droplets and contact with contaminated surfaces.
• Common symptoms: Fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and body aches are all common symptoms of Influenza A(H3N2).
• Prevention is key: Washing your hands frequently, avoiding close contact with others when you're sick, and staying home from work or school if you're infected can help prevent the spread of the virus.

While there's no need to panic, it's essential to take precautions to stay healthy during the holiday season. We recommend staying up-to-date on your vaccinations, practicing good hygiene, and avoiding close contact with others when you're sick.
