Where Snowfall Will Be the Worst This Weekend: Map
The winter weather is getting intense across much of the country this weekend, and we've got a detailed map to show you where the heaviest snowfall is expected.
A powerful low-pressure system is moving into the western United States on Friday night, bringing heavy snow to parts of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The same system will also impact the Great Lakes region and the Northeast on Saturday.
According to the latest forecast models, areas like the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, and the Cascades in Oregon are expected to receive 1-2 feet of snowfall or more by Sunday morning. The Midwest is also in for a winter wonderland with up to a foot of snow predicted for parts of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and North Dakota.

- Nevada:** Las Vegas (4-8 inches), Reno (1-2 feet)

- Az/NM/CO/WY/MT,ID/OR/WA: Sierra Nevada mountains, Rocky Mountains, Cascades (1-2 feet of snow)
- Midwest:** Illinois (6-12 inches), Indiana (4-8 inches), Michigan (4-8 inches), Ohio (3-6 inches), Wisconsin (3-6 inches), Minnesota (4-8 inches), Iowa (2-4 inches), Kansas (1-2 feet), Missouri (1-2 feet), Nebraska (1-2 feet), North Dakota (1-2 feet)
