Waymo Will Pay You $22 to Close Doors on Stuck Robotaxis

Imagine getting a surprise check in the mail for simply doing your civic duty. That's exactly what's happening in Phoenix, Arizona, where residents are being rewarded by Waymo for closing doors on stuck robotaxis.

The self-driving car company is launching a new program aimed at addressing one of the biggest challenges facing its autonomous vehicles: getting out of tight spots when they get stuck. And it's offering $22 to anyone who helps them out.
