Two-Time School Shooting Survivor Trashes JD Vance
A woman who survived two school shootings has come out swinging against bestselling author and senatorial candidate JD Vance, criticizing his response to a recent controversy.
We spoke with Sarah Alcorn, the survivor of both the 2018 Santa Fe High School shooting in Texas and the 2021 Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, who expressed her outrage at Vance's handling of a recent scandal involving his company's employee treatment. "I was appalled by JD Vance's response," she said. "He seems more concerned with protecting his image than standing up for what's right."
Alcorn criticized Vance for downplaying the significance of the controversy, which has sparked outrage among many in the community.
Surviving Two Mass Shootings
- Alcorn survived the 2018 Santa Fe High School shooting in Texas, where eight students were killed and several others injured.
- She was also at Robb Elementary School when the 2021 shooting occurred, which left 19 children and two teachers dead.
Given her experience with mass shootings, Alcorn is well-versed in the impact such events have on individuals and communities. Her scathing critique of Vance's response has sparked a wider conversation about accountability and empathy in leadership.
