Trump Tariffs Live Updates: US to Impose Tariffs on Chinese Chips in Mid-2027; Hassett Says $2K Rebate Checks 'Likely'

It's been a wild ride for trade tensions between the United States and China, and it looks like we're not done yet. According to recent reports, the US is set to impose tariffs on Chinese semiconductors in mid-2027. This move comes as the Biden administration continues to navigate its approach to China.

But that's not all - according to a source close to the matter, White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow said that President Trump has asked Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to "look into" a $2,000 rebate check for American families. National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn and Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney are also reportedly on board with the idea.
