Trump Tariffs Live Updates: US-Indonesia Deal at Risk of Collapse; Trump Floats 'Some' Additional Carveouts

The trade tensions between the United States and Indonesia continue to escalate, with reports emerging that a key trade deal is on the verge of collapse. The deal, which was announced earlier this year, aims to reduce tariffs on Indonesian goods exported to the US.

• What's at stake? The deal would have provided significant benefits for both countries, including increased access to each other's markets and reduced costs for consumers.
• Why is it in trouble? The talks have reportedly stalled over disagreements on specific products that will be exempt from tariffs. It's a complex issue, but essentially, the US wants more concessions from Indonesia.

Meanwhile, President Trump has taken to Twitter to announce that he's considering additional carveouts for some Indonesian goods. While we don't know what these might include just yet, it's clear that the White House is still looking to make a deal happen.

The implications of this trade deal going south are significant, with many experts warning of potential job losses and economic instability in both countries. But will Trump be able to salvage the deal? Only time will tell.
