Trump Tariffs Live Updates: Possible Uses of Revenues and Democratic Response

The ongoing trade dispute between the US and several countries has led to increased tariffs on imported goods, sparking controversy over their impact on American households. Recently, President Trump suggested that tariff revenues could be used to fund various projects, but Democrats disagree with his assessment.

What Could Tariff Revenues Fund?

In a recent statement, the White House outlined at least nine potential uses for tariff revenue:

• Paying off the national debt
• Funding infrastructure projects
• Saving for future economic downturns
• Reducing the deficit
• Sustaining agricultural subsidies
• Supporting the US Postal Service
• Paying down student loan debt
• Funding veterans' healthcare
• Implementing border security measures

Democrats, however, have a different take on the situation. According to recent data, they claim that tariffs have cost each American household around $1,200 so far.
