This development comes as the United States unveiled a $12 billion bailout package for farmers affected by the ongoing trade tensions.

What do the latest developments mean?

• The President's announcement has sparked hopes among certain industries that they may be able to secure exemptions from the tariffs, which have been in place since last year. However, it remains unclear what specific sectors or products will be eligible for these carveouts.
• Meanwhile, the $12 billion bailout package aims to support farmers who have seen their livelihoods impacted by the trade disputes. The funds will be distributed through a combination of direct payments and market facilitation programs.
