Trump Tariffs Live Updates: Democrats Say Tariffs Have Cost Each American Household an Extra $1,200; Trump Floats 'Some' Additional Carveouts

The trade war between the US and China continues to take its toll on American households, with new estimates suggesting that each household has lost around $1,200 due to President Trump's tariffs. The figure comes from Democrats, who have been vocal critics of the tariffs.

According to data compiled by the Democratic Party, the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on Chinese goods have led to higher prices for everyday items such as electronics, furniture, and clothing. The losses are estimated to be around $1,200 per household, with some areas feeling the impact even more heavily.

The news comes as President Trump floats the idea of "some" additional carveouts from the tariffs, which would allow certain goods to avoid the tax. However, details on what exactly this means remain unclear.

Some of the products that have been hit hardest by the tariffs include electronics, furniture, and clothing.
