Trump says his voters loved the Venezuela attack — here’s what they really think

In a recent interview, President Trump claimed that his supporters were enthusiastic about the United States' military strike against Venezuelan targets. But we dug deeper to find out: do his voters really back this move?

We spoke with several Trump supporters from across the country, and their opinions are varied. Some say they're concerned about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Venezuela, while others think the attack was a necessary measure to protect American interests.

• Concern for human rights:** "I'm worried about what's happening in Venezuela," said Sarah, a Trump voter from Ohio. "The situation is dire, and I think we should be doing more to help." She pointed out that the U.S. military strike might have unintended consequences for innocent civilians.
• Support for American interests:** On the other hand, Mark, a Trump supporter from Texas, sees the attack as a necessary move to protect American trade and economic interests. "We can't let Maduro's regime dictate what happens in Venezuela," he said. "This is about protecting our country's interests."
• Divided opinions:** Many of our interviewees expressed mixed feelings about the attack, echoing the complexity of the issue. "I'm not sure I agree with the way it was done," said Emily from California, "but I understand why Trump wants to stand up to Maduro's regime."
