Toyota Issues a Massive Safety Recall That Drivers Should Know About

If you're one of the millions of drivers on the road who own a Toyota, you need to be aware of a massive safety recall that's been issued by the automaker.

The recall affects over 3.5 million vehicles worldwide, and it's related to a software issue that can cause sudden acceleration in some models.

This is not a new problem - in fact, Toyota faced a similar issue several years ago that led to a massive recall of millions of vehicles. The company has been working on fixing the problem since then, but it appears that the fix may not have been effective for all drivers.

Which Models Are Affected?

• The Toyota Avalon from model years 2019-2022
• The Toyota Corolla and Corolla Hybrid from model years 2017-2020
• The Toyota RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid from model years 2019-2021
• The Toyota Camry from model years 2018-2022

Toyota is urging all drivers who own one of these models to bring their vehicle in for a software update as soon as possible.

What Can You Do?

• Check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to see if your vehicle is affected
• Contact Toyota directly to schedule an appointment for the software update
• If you're experiencing any issues with sudden acceleration, do not drive your vehicle - instead, call a tow truck or roadside assistance service

While this recall may be inconvenient, it's essential that drivers take action to ensure their safety on the road.
