This 20-year-old lotto winner refused $1M in cash and chose $1,000/week for life. Now she's getting slammed for it

Meet [Name], a 20-year-old who recently won a huge jackpot in the lottery. But here's the twist: instead of taking home a whopping $1 million in cash, she opted to receive just $1,000 per week for life.

At first glance, it might seem like a no-brainer to take the cash payout. After all, who wouldn't want an extra million dollars? But [Name] had other ideas. According to reports, she chose the annuity option in order to "have some security" and "not worry about taxes."

But while many people might envy her financial security for life, others are slamming her decision online. Some have accused her of being selfish or making a bad choice.

Why did she choose an annuity?

• She didn't want to pay taxes on the lump sum. With an annuity, she'll only be taxed on each year's income.
• She wanted financial security for life. The guaranteed income will provide a steady stream of money for as long as she lives.
• She might not have been ready to manage such a large sum of money. With the annuity, her payments are small and manageable.

Of course, only [Name] truly knows why she made this choice. But it's clear that it's sparked a lot of debate online – with some people praising her for being smart about her finances, while others are criticizing her for being reckless or greedy.

So what do you think?
