Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary warns job seekers he’ll throw your resume ‘straight in the garbage’ if you have bad WiFi

Entrepreneur and Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary has a message for job seekers: having bad WiFi is a major turn-off. In an interview, O'Leary said that when reviewing resumes, he's not just looking for relevant work experience or skills – he also wants to see that the candidate has reliable internet.

"If I get a resume and it's got a bad connection, I'll throw it straight in the garbage," O'Leary warned. "Because if you can't even set up your own WiFi at home, how are you going to handle our network?"

O'Leary isn't alone in his concerns about employee tech skills. Many employers are now expecting job applicants to have basic technical knowledge and proficiency in tools like cloud software and mobile apps.

Why having good WiFi is essential for job seekers

• Reliable internet access is crucial for remote work, which is becoming increasingly common
• A strong WiFi connection can also help you stay organized and productive while on the job
• In today's tech-driven economy, employers want to know that their employees are comfortable with digital tools and can troubleshoot basic technical issues

Whether or not O'Leary actually throws resumes in the trash remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: having good WiFi at home is no longer a nicety – it's a necessity for job seekers looking to stand out in a competitive job market.
