Philly Snow Forecast: Measurable Snowfall Expected This Weekend

Get ready to bundle up, Philly! A winter storm is brewing over the Northeast, and our city is looking at a good chance of measurable snowfall this weekend. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Philadelphia from Saturday morning through Sunday evening.

A low-pressure system moving in from the west will bring cold air with it, leading to bitter temperatures and potentially significant snow accumulation. We're expecting a mix of rain and snow on Saturday, but by nighttime, the precipitation should turn over to all snow.

What to Expect

• Measurable snowfall: Yes! The NWS is predicting 1-3 inches of snow in some areas, with totals possibly reaching up to 5 inches in heavier pockets. Keep in mind that this is a relatively quick-moving system, so we might not see prolonged snowfall.
• Bitter cold temps: We're talking sub-freezing temperatures from Saturday night through Sunday morning. Make sure you've got your winter gear ready!
• Travel disruptions: With the expected snow and freezing temps, be prepared for potential travel delays. Plan ahead, check traffic updates, and stay safe on the roads.
