Oracle says Michigan data center project talks on track without Blue Owl

Oracle has confirmed that discussions regarding its planned data center project in Michigan are still moving forward, despite rumors of a potential snag due to an acquisition involving a key partner.

In 2020, Oracle announced plans to build a massive data center campus in the Detroit suburb of Romulus. The project was expected to bring significant economic growth and create hundreds of jobs in the region.

According to recent reports, Blue Owl Capital's $6 billion acquisition of Digital Colony Fund may have posed a challenge for the Michigan data center project. However, Oracle has released a statement assuring that talks with local authorities are ongoing, and construction is expected to begin as planned.

• The project will feature a massive campus covering over 3 million square feet, housing servers and other IT infrastructure for Oracle's cloud services.
• Once completed, the data center is expected to be one of the largest in the country, supporting thousands of jobs both directly and indirectly.

While details surrounding the project remain tight-lipped, it's clear that progress continues apace. This reassuring news will come as welcome relief for Michigan residents looking forward to the economic boost the data center is expected to bring.
