NYC Winter Storm: When, How Much It Will Snow This Weekend

Get ready to bundle up, New Yorkers! A winter storm is heading our way this weekend, and we've got the details on when and how much snow you can expect.

According to the latest forecast, a nor'easter will bring heavy rain, strong winds, and significant snowfall to the Big Apple starting late Friday evening and continuing through Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire region, with expected snow totals ranging from 6 to 12 inches in the city.

But that's not all - some areas could see even more than that, with up to 18 inches possible in some parts of the metropolitan area. And don't forget about the wind: gusts of up to 40 mph are expected, making it feel much colder outside.

When to Expect Snow

The snow is expected to start falling around 8pm on Friday evening and continue through Saturday morning. The heaviest snowfall will likely occur between midnight and 6am on Saturday, so be prepared for a potentially slippery commute.

Friday: 8pm - Midnight: Light rain and gusty winds
Saturday: Midnight - 6am: Heavy snowfall (up to 12 inches)
Saturday: 6am - 10am: Snow tapering off, with possible flurries
