NYC New Year's Eve ball will drop twice in 2026. Here's why

Get ready for a double dose of celebration as New York City prepares to ring in the new year not once, but twice in 2026! The iconic Times Square ball drop has been a staple of NYC's New Year's Eve festivities since 1907, and next year it'll be dropping...twice.

According to reports, the second ball drop will take place at the Queens Museum as part of a special event commemorating the centennial anniversary of the original Times Square ball drop. The event is expected to draw in crowds from all over the city, and maybe even inspire some New Year's Eve parties of your own.

Of course, if you're planning on hosting your own bash, we've got you covered. Why not create a festive atmosphere with our Inflatable Mirror Ball? This colorful giant sphere will add a touch of glamour to any party, and can be reused year after year for future celebrations!

Or, take inspiration from the iconic Times Square archway, where celebrities like Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez have walked the red carpet. Our Round Wedding Arch Frame is perfect for creating your own VIP entrance or photo booth backdrop.

The 'Why' Behind the Double Drop

• The second ball drop is part of a special event celebrating the centennial anniversary of the original Times Square ball drop.
• The Queens Museum will host the second drop, drawing in crowds from all over the city.
• The double drop promises to bring even more excitement and energy to New Year's Eve celebrations in NYC.

As for why this historic event is happening twice in one night, it's all about giving back. The second ball drop will help raise awareness and funds for a local charity supporting arts education initiatives in underprivileged communities.
