No sign of new protests in Iran as a hard-line cleric calls for executions and threatens Trump
As tensions between the United States and Iran continue to escalate, there are no signs of new protests erupting on the streets of Tehran. The latest development comes from a hard-line Iranian cleric who has called for executions and threatened President Donald Trump.
The cleric, Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi, made his inflammatory comments during a speech at a mosque in Tehran, urging Iranians to attack American targets if the US continues its "aggressive policies" towards Iran. He even went so far as to call for the execution of American citizens, although it's worth noting that such statements are likely intended more to intimidate than to be taken literally.
The comments have sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from around the world, with many hailing them as an affront to human rights and international law. The US has yet to issue a formal response, but President Trump is said to be "reviewing" the situation.
