Mystery Georgia winner of $983M Mega Millions jackpot claims prize

A mystery winner from Georgia has finally come forward to claim the massive $983 million Mega Millions jackpot that was won on January 28th.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, collected their winnings at a news conference in Atlanta earlier this week. According to reports, they chose to take the lump sum payment of approximately $450 million instead of collecting the full amount over time as an annuity.

Georgia's lottery officials have confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased from a convenience store in Stone Mountain, a suburb just outside of Atlanta. The store will receive a one percent commission on the winnings, which amounts to around $4.5 million.

The mystery winner has not revealed their plans for the massive windfall, but we're guessing it'll make some serious changes to their lifestyle! Whether they'll invest in a new home, upgrade their vehicle, or just take a well-deserved break from work, one thing's for sure - this life-changing sum will bring them plenty of financial freedom.
