Microsoft sends harsh message to millions of Microsoft 365 customers

Millions of Microsoft 365 subscribers received an unwelcome email from the tech giant this week, informing them that their accounts will be suspended unless they upgrade to a paid subscription plan.

The move has left many users scratching their heads, wondering why Microsoft is cracking down on free subscribers. According to reports, those affected are customers who have been using the free version of Microsoft 365 for more than 300 days. If you're one of them, don't worry - it's not the end of the world.

What does this mean for you? Well, if you've been making do with the free version, it's time to consider upgrading or switching to a different service altogether. And if you're not sure what plan is best for you, check out our guide to choosing the right Microsoft 365 subscription.

But before we dive into the details, here are some key things to know:

• You can still use your existing account until it's suspended.
• If you upgrade or switch to a different service, you'll need to re-download and reinstall any Microsoft Office apps.
• The email doesn't mention anything about losing access to other Microsoft services like OneDrive or Outlook.

It's worth noting that this move may be an attempt by Microsoft to encourage users to upgrade to more premium plans, which offer additional features and storage. Whether or not you're affected, it's a good time to review your subscription options and consider what works best for you.
