Lego Announced Smart Bricks at CES 2026 — and the first sets are already on sale

The tech world descended upon Las Vegas for CES 2026, and while we're still wrapping our heads around some of the innovations unveiled during the conference, one announcement has particularly caught our attention: Lego's entry into the world of smart building blocks. Dubbed "Smart Bricks," these innovative toys are set to revolutionize the way kids (and let's be honest, adults) play with their favorite childhood pastime.

The idea behind Smart Bricks is deceptively simple: by incorporating small sensors and Wi-Fi connectivity into each brick, users can create digital versions of their physical creations. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities for fans of Lego – from augmented reality experiences to real-time collaboration tools that let builders share and work on projects with others across the globe.

While we're excited about the potential of these tech-enhanced toys, what's even more exciting is the fact that Lego has already started rolling out their first Smart Bricks sets for sale. These aren't just any sets, either – they come packed with a range of features, including motion sensors and programmable lights.

Of course, as we explore this new frontier in interactive play, there's one thing to keep in mind: you'll need to make sure your tablet or smartphone is compatible with the Smart Bricks app. That said, it's not hard to imagine how much fun it could be to bring your Lego creations to life – and see exactly what they'd look like in a virtual environment.

Curious about getting your hands on some of these cutting-edge toys? You're in luck: the first sets are already available for purchase online. We've had a chance to take a closer look at some of the other innovative products being sold by our online store – including this 4L WIFI Button Automatic Cat Feeder Intelligent Cat and Dog Pet Feeder Smart Pet Cat Food Dispenser that's got everyone talking.

We can't wait to see what the future holds for Lego's Smart Bricks. For now, one thing is clear: it's going to be a wild ride.
