Lego Announced Smart Bricks at CES 2026 — and the First Sets are Already on Sale

It's that time of year again – the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has wrapped up, and we're still reeling from all the exciting announcements. Among them was a major one from Lego: they're releasing Smart Bricks. That's right, folks – these aren't just any ordinary building blocks.

According to reports, the new Smart Bricks will be equipped with sensors that allow for advanced features like augmented reality (AR) capabilities and interactive storytelling. We can already imagine the possibilities – your kids will be able to bring their creations to life in ways they never thought possible!

The first sets featuring these revolutionary bricks are available now, so if you're eager to get your hands on them, you're in luck. The new Lego Creator Smart Bricks 42110 Set is a must-have for any serious fan of the brand – and it just so happens that we carry this exact set in our store.

But what exactly does this mean for future Lego sets? Will they all feature these nifty Smart Bricks, or will some be left behind in favor of more traditional designs? One thing's for sure: we'll be keeping a close eye on any developments and bringing you the latest news as it happens.

In the meantime, if you're excited about the prospect of interactive Lego creations, take a look at our collection of technical building blocks – like this 2573PCS Technical Land Off-road Defender Classic Car Building Blocks set (it's almost time to get building!).
