Justice Department Says Jack Smith Report on Trump Investigation 'Belongs in Dustbin of History'

The US Justice Department has weighed in on a report submitted by Special Counsel Jack Smith, who's been investigating various aspects of former President Donald Trump's activities.

In a statement, the department said that Smith's report belongs "in the dustbin of history," indicating their skepticism about its conclusions and implications. This move comes amidst ongoing tensions between the Justice Department and the special counsel's office, which has been probing issues like the January 6th insurrection and potential obstruction of justice.

It's unclear what specific aspects of Smith's report have drawn the department's ire, but this latest development is likely to fuel the ongoing controversy surrounding Trump's investigation. As we wait for more clarity on the situation, one thing is certain: the American public remains closely invested in this saga and its implications for our democracy.
