It's time to start doing something.

Despite the risks of violence and arrest, Minnesotans are stepping up to take on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents who have been raiding homes and workplaces in recent weeks.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that a growing number of people are refusing to cooperate with ICE, citing concerns over the treatment of immigrants and fears about the agency's expanding authority.

Some Minnesotans are even taking their resistance to the streets, organizing protests and rallies outside detention centers and federal buildings. Others are joining advocacy groups, like the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC), which is providing resources and support for those affected by ICE actions.

Risks are high, but so are spirits

While some people may be hesitant to take on the powerful ICE agency, many Minnesotans see it as a necessary step to protect their communities and stand up for what they believe in. Others have been inspired by recent protests and demonstrations around the country.

• The Minneapolis Police Department has faced criticism over its handling of ICE-related arrests, with some accusing officers of collaborating with federal agents.
• Community leaders are urging people to remain calm but vigilant, as tensions between ICE and local residents continue to escalate.

"We can't just sit back and do nothing"

For those who have lost loved ones or friends to ICE actions, the pain is still fresh. But many see this moment as a chance to channel their emotions into action.

A local activist told us that "we're not just fighting for ourselves, we're fighting for our neighbors and our community. We can't just sit back and do nothing."
