Iran's Revolutionary Guard Commander Issues Threat to US

In a stark warning, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that his forces are prepared to take action against the United States.

Gholamhossein Ghezolfat made these comments during an interview with Iranian media, stating that "our finger is on the trigger" and that the IRGC is ready to defend Iran's interests. This comes as tensions between the US and Iran remain high, particularly following the Trump administration's decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal.

The IRGC has been at the forefront of Iran's military efforts in recent years, playing a key role in supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and backing militant groups across the region. The US has long been critical of the IRGC's activities, accusing it of engaging in terrorism and destabilizing regional security.

What Does This Mean for Global Security?

The comments from Ghezolfat are a stark reminder that tensions between Iran and the US remain high. While it is unclear what specific actions the IRGC may take, its willingness to engage with the US militarily raises concerns about regional stability.
