How A Premium Coffee Brand Ends Up At Dollar Tree For $2
It's a common phenomenon we've all experienced: browsing through our local dollar store, and spotting a well-known brand that seems out of place among the discount merchandise. But have you ever stopped to wonder how some premium products end up in such an unexpected setting?
Take, for instance, the premium coffee brand, Lavazza, which recently showed up at Dollar Tree stores across the US for a whopping $2 per can. Yes, you read that right – just two bucks! The same coffee that's usually sold for upwards of $10 in specialty coffee shops.
So, how did this happen? It appears that Lavazza had an excess stock, which it then cleared out through a deal with Dollar Tree. The latter gets to offer its customers a great product at an unbeatable price, while the former gets rid of unwanted inventory without taking too much of a hit.
This isn't the first time we've seen this happen. Other popular brands like Folgers and Maxwell House have also been spotted in dollar stores from time to time. It just goes to show that even the biggest companies can get caught up in inventory management mishaps!
