Home Depot Copies Walmart with Decision Consumers Won't Like

Home improvement enthusiasts may be in for a surprise as retail giant Home Depot follows in Walmart's footsteps with a change to their store policies that's got many customers speaking out.

For those who may not know, Walmart recently announced plans to discontinue their free 2-day shipping option on orders under $35. Now, it seems Home Depot is taking a similar approach by eliminating price matching on online and in-store prices for non-members of their loyalty program.

This move has left many customers feeling frustrated and disappointed, especially those who have come to expect the same level of service from both retailers. The policy change affects all purchases made at Home Depot stores, whether it's a simple household item or a major home renovation project.

So what does this mean for consumers? Well, for non-members of Home Depot's loyalty program, they'll no longer be able to take advantage of price matching on items purchased in-store or online. This could lead to higher prices and less savings for those who don't opt-in to the program.

We've seen similar policy changes from retailers before, but it's always a bit disheartening when a change is made that seems to benefit the company more than its customers. As we continue to navigate the ever-changing retail landscape, it's clear that consumers will need to adapt and stay vigilant in order to get the best deals.
