Godzilla' the gator hauls massive Burmese python in Everglades

A gargantuan alligator has been caught on camera hauling a massive Burmese python out of the water in the Florida Everglades, leaving wildlife experts stunned.

The incredible encounter was captured by a trail camera set up by researchers at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. The footage shows a massive American alligator, estimated to be over 12 feet long, emerging from the depths with a massive python wrapped around its body.

According to wildlife experts, Burmese pythons have been causing a significant problem in the Everglades ecosystem, preying on native animals and disrupting the delicate balance of the environment. The invasive species has become such a threat that a controlled hunt was implemented in 2017 to try and bring their numbers under control.

While this remarkable video won't be the solution to eradicating the Burmese python population, it does highlight the importance of protecting native wildlife like the American alligator.
