Frustrated customer calls out Target after discovering sneaky tactic at local store: 'These companies assume consumers are stupid'

A fed-up shopper has taken to social media to expose a surprising practice they discovered during a recent visit to their local Target store.

According to the irate customer, who shared their experience on a popular online forum, the big-box retailer was using a sneaky tactic to get customers to spend more money at checkout.

• The shopper noticed that the cashier had added an extra item to their receipt - in this case, a $2 "restocking fee" for a bottle of water.
• When the customer questioned the charge, they were told it was a standard practice at Target stores.
• The disgruntled shopper expressed frustration that companies like Target assume consumers are not paying attention and will automatically accept any charges without question.

This incident has sparked outrage among many online commenters who feel that this kind of tactic is unfair and deceptive.
