Fractures are starting to show in Trump's GOP at the start of this election year

The Republican Party is no stranger to infighting, but it seems like the rifts within the party have only grown wider as we approach the 2024 presidential election. As President Biden gears up for a potential re-election bid, the fractures within Trump's base are becoming increasingly apparent.

According to recent polls and analysis, key segments of the Republican Party, including former Trump loyalists, are now questioning their allegiance to the party's standard-bearer. While some of these defectors may simply be taking a break from the spotlight, others seem to be making a more permanent shift towards other options.

So what's behind this sudden trend? For one, many Republicans are reportedly growing tired of the internal power struggles and petty squabbles that have come to define Trump's brand of politics. At the same time, some are also beginning to re-evaluate their priorities in light of recent developments – like the ongoing Ukraine conflict and rising domestic concerns.

Of course, it's worth noting that no party is ever a monolith, and there will always be internal disagreements. However, if this trend continues, it could potentially create a significant obstacle for Trump's chances at re-election – or even a primary challenge from within his own party.
