First-time Tesla owner shares what shocked him the most after owning the car for a year: 'The more I drive this car…'

Meet John, a software engineer from California who traded in his gas-guzzling SUV for a shiny new Model 3 last year. After putting some serious miles on it, he reflected on what's stood out to him about owning an electric vehicle (EV). 'The more I drive this car,' he says with a chuckle, 'the less I notice it's even there.'

He adds that the car's regenerative braking system has really grown on him – it's helped him become more mindful of his driving habits and actually save money on gas (or lack thereof).

While owning a Tesla may not be for everyone, John's experience is certainly an eye-opener for those considering making the switch. 'If you're hesitant to try out an EV,' he says with confidence, 'I say go for it! You'll be surprised at how quickly you adapt.'
