First-time Tesla owner shares what shocked him the most after owning the car for a year: 'The more I drive this car…'

We got an inside scoop from a first-time Tesla owner who's been behind the wheel of his Model 3 for over a year now. What was he expecting, and what did he end up discovering? We dug in to find out.

"I thought I was getting into a car with all the bells and whistles," says John, our source. "But little did I know how much more it had under the hood – or rather, on the touchscreen."

• The seamless integration of smartphone apps: "My favorite feature is probably how easily I can control my music and podcasts with just a few taps on the screen," John says.
• Over-the-air updates: "I've seen my car get smarter every month, with new features added automatically through software updates. It's mind-blowing!"
• Safety features: "The constant warnings and alerts about potential hazards are actually a huge relief – I feel safer driving this car than any other."

Of course, there are some quirks to getting used to as well. But overall, John says it's been a game-changer for him.

"The more I drive this car, the more I realize how much it's changed my daily commute," he concludes. "I'm hooked!"
