First-time Tesla owner shares what shocked him the most after owning the car for a year: 'The more I drive this car…'

We caught up with John, a first-time Tesla owner who's been behind the wheel of his Model 3 for over a year. As he shared some of the surprises that came with owning an electric vehicle, we couldn't help but think about how these experiences might be relatable to our readers.

• One thing John mentioned was the rapidity at which he fell in love with the car's Autopilot feature. 'It's like having a personal copilot,' he said, describing how he'd get used to driving with it enabled and then forget it was even on!
• Another surprise for John was the impact of owning an electric vehicle on his daily routine. He mentioned that the lack of oil changes and reduced maintenance needs have saved him a significant amount of money over the past year.
• A final point he made was how much he appreciates the seamless updates Tesla provides to its vehicles, including new features and improved performance.

John's experience with his Tesla Model 3 highlights the many benefits that come with owning an electric vehicle. And while it may have taken him a year to fully appreciate them, we think these advantages are definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new car.
