First-time Tesla owner shares what shocked him the most after owning the car for a year: 'The more I drive this car…'

Meet John, a first-time Tesla owner who recently shared his thoughts on what it's like to own an electric vehicle (EV) for a full year. As we learned from our conversation with him, there are some surprises that come with EV ownership – and not all of them are good.

• John was initially drawn to the Tesla Model S because of its sleek design and impressive performance capabilities.
• However, after driving his Tesla for a year, he revealed that one thing that caught him off guard was how quickly it uses up its battery life.

"The more I drive this car, the less I seem to get out of each charge," John explained. "I've noticed that even with moderate driving, my range is dropping faster than expected."

We asked John if he's made any adjustments to his daily driving habits to compensate for the reduced range, and he shared a few tips on how he's optimized his charging routine.
