First-time Tesla owner shares what shocked him the most after owning the car for a year
As more and more people consider joining the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, we wanted to hear from someone who's actually done it – successfully. Meet John, a first-time Tesla owner who's been behind the wheel of his Model 3 for 12 months now. We caught up with John to see what surprised him most about owning an EV, and how it's changed his daily driving habits."The more I drive this car," he says with a chuckle, "the less I'm shocked by its capabilities. But one thing that still surprises me is just how efficient it is."
John notes that his Model 3 has consistently delivered an estimated range of over 300 miles on a single charge, even after a year of daily driving in various conditions."I thought I'd be constantly worrying about running out of juice," he admits, "but the Tesla's Autopilot feature and navigation system do such a great job of optimizing my route that I barely give it a second thought."
One thing John didn't anticipate was how quickly he'd grow accustomed to not using gas stations. "I used to fill up at least once a week," he recalls, "but now I only need to charge my car every few days."Of course, as with any new vehicle, there have been some teething issues. John mentions that his Model 3's display screen took some getting used to – but he's since upgraded it with a 10.4 Inch IPS Tesla Style Screen, which he says has made a huge difference in navigation and entertainment.
So what advice would John give to someone considering joining the EV revolution? "Just go for it!" he exclaims. "The cost savings alone are worth it, but there's also something really satisfying about knowing you're doing your part for the environment."Related Products
