Doctor Who Fought to Treat Alex Pretti Says Border Patrol Moved His Body to Count Wounds Instead of Doing CPR

A tragic incident has left many questioning the actions of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents who handled the case of 24-year-old Alex Pretti, who died in their custody. According to Dr. Peter Breggin, a psychiatrist who fought to treat Pretti, CBP agents removed his body from a holding cell without attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Dr. Breggin claims that the CBP agents were more interested in counting Pretti's wounds than providing life-saving care. This disturbing allegation raises questions about the treatment of migrants and asylum seekers in US custody.

• Pretti, an Italian national, was being held by CBP after crossing the border into Texas.
• Dr. Breggin had been trying to treat Pretti for what he believed were symptoms of a traumatic experience.
• The CBP agents' actions have sparked outrage among advocates for migrant rights and raises concerns about the treatment of vulnerable individuals in US custody.

While the incident is deeply troubling, it highlights the need for increased transparency and accountability within the CBP. As we continue to learn more about this case, one thing is clear: the treatment of migrants and asylum seekers in the US must be reexamined.

What You Can Do:

If you're as outraged by this incident as we are, consider supporting organizations that advocate for migrant rights. Every voice counts in pushing for change.
