Dad Tried to Keep Daughter 'Calm' as Helicopter Plunges 500 Feet to Ground

A dramatic helicopter crash in California has left many wondering how everyone on board made it out alive, especially a young girl who asked her dad a heart-wrenching question after the ordeal.

According to eyewitnesses and officials, the helicopter crashed into a field at an altitude of around 500 feet, sending debris flying everywhere. Miraculously, all six people on board escaped with injuries, although two were taken to hospital for treatment.

The little girl, who was reportedly only a few years old, managed to stay calm throughout the ordeal - thanks in part to her dad's quick thinking and actions. As they both looked out at the wreckage, she asked him, "Are you alive?"

• Her dad's response must have been reassuring, but it's not hard to imagine how terrifying this experience must have been for both of them.
• Despite the chaos that ensued, the family is said to be shaken but grateful for their lives.
• The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
