Couple Seemed 'Exhausted' on Family Video Chat from the Dominican Republic. The Next Day, They Were Found Dead by Son (Exclusive)

A harrowing incident has left a family reeling after a couple's sudden deaths were discovered just hours after they appeared exhausted during a video chat with their son.

The couple, who had been on vacation in the Dominican Republic, spoke to their 13-year-old son via FaceTime before bed. They seemed tired and not themselves, but it wasn't until the next morning that the boy became concerned when he couldn't reach them.

"I just kept calling them, trying to get a hold of them," said the son in an interview. "They usually responded pretty quickly."

After growing increasingly worried, the son asked his parents' friends to check on them, and it was then that they were found unresponsive in their hotel room.

The investigation is ongoing, but authorities say foul play is not suspected at this time. The cause of death has not been released pending further investigation.
