Are you in the market for a new set of wheels? Well, before you start browsing those dealerships or scrolling through online listings, take heed of this warning from Consumer Reports: there are certain automakers that you might want to think twice about.
According to recent research by the non-profit organization, several major car brands have been found to have issues with reliability, performance, and even safety. Yes, you read that right - safety. Now, we're not saying these cars are deathtraps or anything, but it's always better to be aware of potential problems.
So, which automakers should you steer clear of? Consumer Reports lists the following brands as having significant issues:
- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) - reliability and performance concerns
- Honda - transmission problems and reliability issues
- Nissan - engine and transmission issues, as well as some safety concerns
- Tesla - while they're known for their innovative electric vehicles, Consumer Reports notes that many owners have reported issues with the Autopilot system and overall performance.
Of course, this isn't to say that every car from these brands is a lemon. But it's always better to be aware of potential problems before making a purchase. And if you're in the market for a new ride, why not consider some of our top-rated cars instead? We've got guides and reviews on some of the best models out there.
