Company hit with six-figure fine in crackdown on selling illegal car devices: 'All we do is bend tubes into crazy shapes for trucks'

A leading manufacturer of aftermarket car parts has been slapped with a hefty fine by regulators, who claim the company was selling devices that don't comply with safety standards.

The company, which produces air conditioning systems and other accessories for trucks, had apparently been bending the rules – literally. In an interview, a spokesperson for the firm downplayed the issue, saying "All we do is bend tubes into crazy shapes for trucks." But it seems that's not exactly what regulators were looking for.

The fine, which totals six figures, is part of a wider crackdown on companies selling car devices that don't meet safety standards. It's a timely reminder for drivers to make sure their cars are equipped with the right gear – and that they're buying from reputable suppliers.

For truck owners who want to upgrade their climate control system, we've got some options available. Of course, it's always a good idea to do your research before buying any car accessories – and make sure you're getting the real deal. After all, as one regulator put it, "It's not just about saving money – it's about staying safe on the road."
