Boys at her school shared AI-generated, nude images of her. After a fight, she was the one expelled

Last week, a disturbing incident made headlines across the country. A high school student, who wishes to remain anonymous, was the victim of cyberbullying when AI-generated nude images of her were shared among classmates. But what happened next has sparked outrage and debate: after a fight with one of the perpetrators, she was expelled from school.

The incident highlights the complexities of online harassment and the need for schools to develop effective policies in addressing these issues. With more students than ever engaging in online activities, it's not uncommon for cyberbullying to occur - but what sets this case apart is the use of AI-generated images, which can be incredibly difficult to track and remove.

The victim's mother, who has been advocating for greater awareness about online harassment, shared her concerns with us: "It's not just about the AI-generated images; it's about the lack of accountability in these situations. Schools need to take a more proactive approach to addressing cyberbullying, including educating students and staff on how to identify and report incidents."

This incident also raises questions about the role of technology in exacerbating online harassment. While some argue that AI-generated images are a new frontier for harassers, others claim that schools should focus on teaching students digital citizenship skills, such as critical thinking and media literacy.
