When Bullying Goes Digital: A Tragic Case of AI-Generated Harassment

A disturbing case of online harassment has come to light, leaving many questioning the consequences of bullying and digital victimization. The story involves a high school student who was mercilessly targeted by her classmates, with AI-generated nude images being shared among them.

What makes this situation even more alarming is that after an altercation between the victim and one of the bullies, it was she – not the perpetrators – who received disciplinary action. She was expelled from school, sparking outrage and calls for reform in how institutions handle online harassment cases.

The Case Against AI-Generated Harassment

• AI-generated images can be created with ease using apps like Prisma or Deep Dream Generator, making them virtually indistinguishable from real ones. This raises concerns about the spread of misinformation and the potential for further online harassment.
• The victim in this case was allegedly targeted by multiple classmates who shared these images, causing her immense distress and emotional trauma.
