BBQ Chain Closes Half Its Restaurants, Files Chapter 11

A popular BBQ chain has announced that it will be closing half of its restaurants across the country and filing for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11.

The decision was made due to declining sales and increased competition in the fast-casual market. The company's CEO stated that they are taking this step to "restructure and refocus" their operations, but it's a tough blow for fans of the chain who will be losing access to their favorite BBQ joints.

The Chapter 11 filing allows the company to continue operating while reorganizing its debt and developing a plan to recover. It's not uncommon for companies to file for Chapter 11 protection in an effort to turn things around, but it can be a difficult process that often requires significant changes to operations and leadership.

What does this mean for customers? Unfortunately, many of their favorite locations will be closing, but they may still have access to the chain's menu items at remaining restaurants.
