$2.8 million Powerball ticket sold at Southern California store

A record-breaking Powerball ticket has been sold in Southern California, netting a whopping $2.8 million for its lucky owner.

The winning ticket was purchased at a local convenience store in the city of Whittier, according to officials with the California Lottery. The store's employee, who wishes to remain anonymous, says that they are "thrilled" for the winner and can't believe their luck.

While we don't know the identity of the winner just yet, lottery officials say that it's likely a local resident who played the game regularly.

This Powerball ticket win is one of the largest in California history. It's a reminder to always check those tickets carefully and keep dreaming - you never know when your luck might change!
