Australian bird of the year 2025: vote for your favourite #birdoftheyear in the Guardian / BirdLife Australia poll
This is where you cast your vote for the 2025 Australian bird of the year, from 6-15 October. You will be able to see the voting tally for each bird throughout the competition. The bottom five birds will be eliminated at the end of each day, with tallies starting afresh just after midnight. You can vote every day.
The final round of voting for the remaining 10 birds starts at midnight on Tuesday 14 October, after which time vote tallies will no longer be visible. The bird with the most votes when the poll closes at 6am on Wednesday 15 October will be crowned bird of the year 2025. The winner will be announced on Thursday 16 October.
